THANK YOU
Once again the provision of the Lord humbles me and brings me to my knees. He is so good. Last weekend’s Camp Fundraiser was amazing. We had such a great time together and the amount of funds raised was truly a miracle! It is such a pleasure to serve in a church where the people value youth and invest in them. Because of all of your support, we have camp paid for this year and a very nice cushion to begin next year! Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I’d like to thank the following individuals especially, for all of the help they provided on Saturday:
Trevor & Jennielle Denn Toni & Amber Parker
Ron & Sally Zielke Michele Michael
Kristy Moreno Laura Drew
Connie Ivey Christi Olson
Diane Liles Timothy Bigboy
And of course thank you to Jessie Pannell for the wonderful food and organization!!!!!
Thanks to all of you. I love my family dearly.

A SUMMER OF EVANGELISM
This coming summer, starting in June, we will be kicking off at West Main what we are going to be calling, A Summer of Evangelism. The full details of what is involved will be shared in the coming weeks, but I thought I would give you a little teaser of what is in store.
Starting Sunday June 10th and running through to August all our Sunday morning sermons will be focused on an evangelistic message. Our intent is to have each of our Sunday morning lessons focus on the saving message of Jesus Christ. Additionally, our hope is that all our members will invite and encourage their family and friends to attend. Each sermon will be a complete lesson in and of itself on how and why to come to salvation in Jesus Christ. Also, each sermon will be no longer than twenty-five minutes! Yes, you heard me, twenty-five minutes. Why? Our thinking is that many people today who are not familiar with Christian worship might have a more difficult time sitting for longer lessons more focused on our lives as Christians.
So all summer long, you can invite any family, friends, or the people you meet each day to attend a Sunday morning worship service. No matter which service those you invite attend, they will be able to hear a self-contained lesson on the good news of Jesus Christ! You might be able to encourage those you know to attend by appealing to the brevity of the lessons. This time frame of the sermons may also help those with young children sit through the entire service. Our overall goal is to have our songs, Lord Table Talks, prayers, and sermons all focus uniquely on salvation in Jesus.
We are also going to be using our Sunday night services to appeal evangelistically. Beginning June 24th we will be having our evening service at Lewis Park. The goal here is to have a short devotional with an object lesson to go along with the message. We will keep it to roughly fifteen minutes. After the devotion, we will provide free hot dogs and hamburgers and various outdoor games! Our youth group will be handing out flyers to the neighborhood homes during the week inviting those who live in the neighborhood to attend. Our hope is that our continued presence in the neighborhood will be an effective outreach to our neighbors and a good witness of our service and love to others. This time at the park will also be a wonderful and relaxed opportunity to invite those you know to get to know us in an atmosphere of fellowship, fun, and food!
Lastly, each of the Sunday morning Bible lessons starting in July will focus on the meaning of evangelism. We will discuss the history, theology, and some how-to of evangelism. Our adult classes will be combined for July and August as we discuss what evangelism is and is not.
So as you can see our summer is truly gearing up to be A Summer of Evangelism! We hope that our focus on evangelism and the opportunities that we will provide congregationally will lead those we know to know the One we know saves us from sin and death—Jesus Christ!

“God Speak to Me”
The man whispered, “God, speak to me,” and a wild bird sang. But the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, “God, speak to me!” and the thunder rolled across the sky. But the man did not listen.
Next, the man looked around and said, “God, let me see you,” and a star shone brightly. But the man did not notice.
Then the man shouted, “God, show me a miracle!” and a life was born. But the man did not know.
Finally, the man cried out in despair, “God, touch me and let me know that you are here.” Whereupon God reached down and touched the man. But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
Please don’t miss out on a blessing just because it isn’t packaged the way you expect it to be.
