BACK TO SCHOOL
It is time to go back to school again. This brings many emotions. Kids are scared and excited, as are parents and teachers, too. It is no secret that our school system does not always make things easy for followers of Christ. It can be a dark place sometimes for our kids. As such, we need to take the time as a family to pray for those returning to school. We pray for our children and their precious impressionable hearts. We pray for our educators and teachers and the strength they will need. And we pray for our parents as they support and navigate their children through all of this. Please join me in praying:
“Father, we lift up our schools to you. We especially lift up our kids this year. I pray you will be near them when we can’t be. I pray you will surround them with peace and comfort in every new situation. I pray when they are pressured, you will help them stand firm in you.
I pray when they fail, they will seek forgiveness and forgive themselves and try again. I pray they will befriend those who are new, lonely and outcast. I pray they will be a blessing to their teachers.
I pray they will let their light shine and above all God, I pray that you would use their challenges, disappointments and victories to draw them closer to you this school year.” In Jesus Name – Amen

2013 Northwest Schools of Mission
Proclaim Freedom for the Captives
Northwest Schools of Mission will be in Southern Oregon September 22-27. We, at West Main, have a special opportunity to listen to these missionaries give their presentations on Friday, September 20, in the auditorium. They will be speaking from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event is open to anyone who would like to observe and we encourage participation from our congregation. The mission displays will be set up in the courtyard.
The following people will be in our area:

Girls rescued from such situations, get vocational training and counseling and are taught about Christ and His love while at Rapha House. Joe will also be speaking to our Youth Group on Sunday evening, September 22.
